Obama care was designed to give more Americans access to affordable quality health insurance and reduce healthcare spending in the US. This act provides patients with many protections in dealing with insurance companies. In return, ObamaCare mandates that all Americans who can afford Health insurance must obtain it. If an American does not purchase some form of healthcare, they will be taxed as if they have. This act was made in hopes to regulate health insurance, not necessarily the quality of healthcare. The affordable care act also created a new tax, increased funding for health education and awareness, and made some cuts on spending. Most of the taxes created are for high earners, large businesses, and the health care industry.
