United States Health Care
How Do You Get Healthcare?
In the United States healthcare is provided mostly by private insurance companies or public providers like Medicare or Medicaid. Due to the Affordable Care Act, all Americans have the ability to get health insurance. Citizens can use the Marketplace website to find the best insurance for them. Medicaid is a system that provides basic healthcare to low income families who cannot afford insurance or people with disabilities. Medicare is a government provided program for people over the age of 65. This provides services such as hospital trips, nurses, and hospice care.
Cost of health care increases:
In the United States of America, the cost of healthcare has been slowly increasing over the years, to the point where it is becoming difficult for companies to provide health insurance for their employees. This growth is expected to continue into the future. The high price of health care is causing companies to make drastic changes, forcing some to the point where they can not provide insurance to their employees. Employers consider tactics like raising the price on their employee's deductibles and co pays in order to reduce some of the spending on health costs.
Why is Price Increasing?
There are many factors contributing to jump in the cost of health insurance.
- The cost of hospital care is increasing. Each year the price to stay at a hospital increases little by little, which contributes to the cost of health insurance increasing.
- America has become more technologically advanced and new expensive forms of technology has became a part of health care. These technologies cost more for the hospitals to incorporate, causing them to charge more for the care itself.
- As the United States advances through out the years, the life styles of the citizens have became unhealthy. With the rate of obesity and heart disease increasing the need for healthcare increases as well.
